VIPs to Lead Uttarakhand's Self-Census Drive
The Census Directorate of Uttarakhand has finalized preparations for the first phase of the national census. As a symbolic step, the Governor, Chief Minister, ministers, and senior officers will be the first to complete the self-census at their official residences. A special team from the directorate will assist them in completing the process. This initiative is expected to set an example for citizens across the state.
Online Self-Census Portal Opens from April 10
Starting April 10, residents of Uttarakhand can complete their self-census through the online portal at se.census.gov.in. The actual house listing and house counting work will begin on April 25, when trained census enumerators will visit homes. However, if residents complete the self-census online beforehand, the enumerators will only verify the information. This significantly reduces the time required during their visit.
No Documents Needed - Just Answer 33 Questions
Citizens are not required to submit any documents for the census. The process involves answering 33 questions that will appear on screen after logging into the online portal. If someone does not complete the self-census, the enumerator will come to their home and ask all 33 questions in person. The enumerators will also note down house numbers and other details during their visit on and after April 25.
