A Grand Welcome Planned for April 14
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to visit Uttarakhand on April 14 to inaugurate the Dehradun-Delhi Economic Corridor, also referred to as the Dehradun-Delhi Expressway. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami announced that the Prime Minister will be welcomed with the sounds of shankh (conch shells) and ghanta (temple bells), marking the occasion as a grand public celebration.
Road Show, Temple Visit, and Cultural Display
According to the CM, PM Modi will first offer prayers at the Daat Kali Temple upon arriving in Dehradun. From there, he will participate in a road show on his way to the event venue at Gadhikant. The Chief Minister directed that the event should reflect Uttarakhand's rich cultural heritage, including traditional Garhwali, Kumaoni, and Jaunsari folk dances and music. Citizens have been encouraged to come out with national flags to line the road show route.
A Corridor That Promises Economic Transformation
Chief Minister Dhami stressed that the Dehradun-Delhi Expressway will be a milestone for Uttarakhand's development. The corridor is expected to significantly reduce travel time between Delhi and Dehradun. Additionally, it is poised to give a major boost to tourism, employment, and trade in the state. The project is also anticipated to bring transformative changes in logistics, transportation, and investment, thereby strengthening the state's overall economy.
