Grenade Attack on BJP Office Triggers Alert in Uttarakhand
Following a grenade attack on the Punjab BJP office in Chandigarh Sector-37, Dehradun police were immediately placed on high alert and security at the local BJP office was significantly enhanced. Senior Superintendent of Police Parmendra Singh Dobhal confirmed that the Chandigarh incident triggered a precautionary alert across Uttarakhand, with police deployment increased around sensitive political establishments in the state.
Key Clues Surface as Suspects Remain at Large
Police have gathered several important leads in the case. Suspect Gurtez Singh, accused of throwing the grenade, had been working as a bike rider in Chandigarh for three years and had not returned home during that period. His associate Amanpreet was reportedly driving in Chandigarh at the time of the attack. During a raid at Amanpreet's residence in Ratangarh village in Morinda, Chandigarh police recovered a suspicious yellow envelope that has been taken for analysis.
Investigation Links Chandigarh Attack to Amritsar Blast
Investigators are now exploring possible links between the Chandigarh BJP office grenade attack and a recent blast in Amritsar. Agencies believe both incidents may be connected, pointing to coordinated activities by terror elements operating in Punjab. The suspects have not yet been arrested, and searches are ongoing across multiple locations. The inquiry is being treated with high priority given the sensitive nature of targeted political establishments.
