Government Primary School Pata in Uttarkashi's Bhatwari block has permanently closed after 66 years, as rural-to-urban migration drained its student population to zero, leaving only one remaining school in the village with just two students.

Uttarakhand's Personnel Department has cleared the proposal to offer direct government jobs to 243 athletes who won 103 medals at the 38th National Games, with the file now forwarded to the Finance Department for final approval.
